A Pastor planting a seed, a teaching on “The Great Commission”, God speaking to my wife, and a lot of prayer and fasting got us to the point where we were looking for confirmation about God’s calling at this time in our lives, and so we decided to seek Godly advise for “in the multitude of counselors there is safety” Proverbs 11:14.
In my wife’s case it was one of our Pastor’s wife with whom she set-up a lunch appointment to tell her what was going on, however my wife did not tell her what was the topic she wanted to discuss; once my wife shared with Susan what was on her mind and that she was trying to get a confirmation about the possibility to go back to Colombia and share the gospel the answer was a shocking:
“Oh girl you guys are going”

As part of the preparation to speak with my wife Susan pray to God asking Him for a verse to share with Paula, a verse that would give her direction, encouragement or simply a solution to whatever the problem was because in her mind “Paula may be having questions about being a foster mom, an adoptive mom, a minister’s wife, or may be just having problems with her marriage” so when the Lord gave her Acts 8:26 Susan was puzzle by the verse for according to her thoughts it didn’t have anything to do with Paula, but little that she know it became like marching orders for me and my wife to go and share the gospel in a distant land, it didn’t’ make sense for us but that only meant that there was a lot of room for God to show up.
God is setting the stage for a wonderful work. He had maneuvered Philip into position in order to intercept a man who was searching the true meaning of scriptures and most likely the meaning of his own existence, and all Philip had to was obey, but I am sure that called didn’t make much sense to Philip because he was doing great ministry where he was, as a matter of fact there was a revival taking place as we learned from Acts 8:4-8. However he didn’t question God, he obeyed.
